Bulir Padi scholarships cover school tuition and are incentive driven:

Student Grade Point Average Bulir Padi Scholarship
Less than or equal to 5.9 50%
6.0 - 7.9 75%
8.0 - 10.0 100%

- Scholarship recipients are selected based on several criteria, including on-site visit to scholarship candidatesí homes and one-on-one interviews with candidates, parents and family. A panel comprising of Bulir Padi management chooses final recipients

- On the third week of each month, the sponsored child and at least one of the parents will meet with the Bulir Padiís team and collect the scholarship money based on the above incentive scheme.

At this meeting, each parent will bring and provide documents:

- Official school fee card to ensure that the studentís school tuition payments are paid with our scholarship funds.

- Studentís report card (every semester) to keep track of how scholarship recipients are doing in school, so the Bulir Padi team can monitor the studentís progress, provide information for sponsors when needed as well as ensure that school fees are covered appropriately.

Who we help

Utlul Aini, SMK Wiyata Satya

Her father works as a rujak street hawker and her mother gets additional income for the family by being a part-time nanny. Utlul understands how important it is that her parents receive help to finance her education.

“I feel my parents are really helped from the support we receive from Bulir Padi’s scholarship fund because my parents also have to pay for my younger sister’s education,” Utlul says.

Budi Santoso, SMK Muhammadiyah IX

As a jamu street hawker, Ibu Warmi doesn’t have a steady income. Every day this woman fondly called Ibu War wakes up at 3am in the morning to prepare her goods to sell, such as jamu kunir asem, beras kencur and sirih. She has been a jamu street hawker for the past 30 years.

When asked about how he felt as a Bulir Padi sponsored child Budi said, “I am very happy to receive the financial help I do because I feel bad my mother has to raise me and my other siblings as a single parent.”
